IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF JOHN THE BAPTIST (Protestant Program)

DAY 1
Arrive at Ben Gurion airport, transfer to the Judean Hills.
Overnight: Judean Hills

DAY 2
Drive to Ein Kerem, birthplace of John the Baptist and visit St. John's Church and the Church of Visitation. Continue to Bethlehem to visit the Church of Nativity, where Jesus was born. Visit the Baptismal site and Cave of John the Baptist, discovered in 1999, where he sought his first solitude and where he first practiced baptism. Enjoy a special Baptism ceremony.
Overnight: Judean Hills

DAY 3
Drive via the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea. Pass the Inn of the Good Samaritan and visit Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Stop at Kaser-El-Yahud, baptismal site on the Jordan River and drive along the Jordan Valley to Nazareth. Visit the Basilica of Annunciation, the Blessed Cave, and Mary and Joseph's house.
Overnight: Tiberias

DAY 4
Cross the Sea of Galilee on a boat to Capernaum, the center of Jesus' Ministries and the house of Peter. Visit Tabgha, site of Feeding the Multitude Miracle. Visit Mt. of Beatitudes (Sermon on the Mount), and continue to Kibbutz Ginosar to see the "Boat of Jesus".
Overnight: Tiberias

DAY 5
Drive to the Carmel Mountain to visit the Carmelite Monastery at the Murakah, where the prophet Elijah contested the false Ba'al prophets. Drive south along the coastal road to Caesarea. See the excavations of the Roman statues, the Aqueduct, and the restored Theater, near the place where Paul was imprisoned. Drive to Jaffa where Peter had his vision and from where the message went out to the Western world.
Overnight: Jerusalem

DAY 6
Start the visit with a spectacular view of Jerusalem from Mt. of Olives and visit the Church of Pater Noster, and the Chapel of Ascension (inside a Mosque). Walk down the Palm Sunday Road to visit the Church of Dominus Flevit and the Church of all Nations at the Garden of Gethsemane.
Drive to Mt. Zion, to visit the Room of the Last Supper located in the Upper Room, above King David's Tomb. Continue to the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu where Jesus was lowered down the Dungeon before handed over to Pontius Pilatus.
Enter the Old City via Zion Gate and the Armenian Quarter followed by a short walk through the Jewish Quarter down to visit the Western Wall and the Excavations of the Southern Wall.
Overnight: Jerusalem

DAY 7
Enter the Old City via Lion's Gate. Visit the Pools of Bethesda, St. Anne's Church, and the Chapel of Flagellation. Pass through Ecce Homo Arch to the Via Dolorosa; pass the Stations of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
End the day with Holy Communion at the Garden Tomb
Overnight: Jerusalem

DAY 8
Transfer to Ben Gurion airport for departure
